Coalition Triggers Tinubu into Panic Mode As He Moves To Reverse Harsh, Biting Economic Policies... ~Ebuka R. Okoye

Since the formidable convergence of Nigeria’s opposition heavyweights, such as..... Mr. Peter Obi, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, David Mark, Nasir El-Rufai, Rotimi Amaech, Aregbesola, Ihedioha, and many others, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been visibly thrown off balance. This coalition, a powerful force united by one mission to rescue Nigeria from APC led maladministration has sent shockwaves through the presidency.

Every day since their emergence, Tinubu’s camp has been working overtime to downplay and discredit this alliance. His allies are scrambling. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for instance, has held media briefings, appeared on Channels TV, and even took to the pulpit, desperately trying to contain the ripple effects. Certainly, the panic is palpable.

In a swift turnaround, the Tinubu led maladministration has begun reversing many of its controversial and unpopular economic policies. Reports suggest reductions in import duties and a review of fuel prices, decisions that starkly contrast with the hardship Nigerians were previously told to endure as part of the “pain of childbirth.”

But what has changed?

This was the same man who called on Nigerians to, fast while he and his cronies were busy dinning sumptuously on our collective wealth. Now, with the 2027 elections looming, Tinubu is attempting to rewrite the narrative. This is not reform. It’s pure political theater. For me, a desperate ploy to manipulate the masses and salvage a sinking and battered image.

The same policies that pushed millions of Nigerians into unprecedented suffering are now, being hastily reversed, not out of compassion, but out of fear.
If he actually believed in the necessity of the acclaimed “temporal pain that accompanies childbirth” why abort the supposed progress now? Last time I checked, no competent medical practitioner ki||s a child just because the mother is in pain. Yet, this is what Tinubu appears to be doing, by abandoning his touted reforms simply for political survival.

Make no mistake: this is the last kick of a dying horse.

Nigerians must not fall for these antics. The dying horse must be allowed to breathe his last. To allow this political project to continue is to enable a greater catastrophe. The signs are clear, especially for our northern brothers and sisters. Should Tinubu return in 2027, his policies are bound to worsen their plight. Rising poverty, deepening insecurity, and growing regional neglect are only the beginning.

The events of the past week have shown just how much the coalition has shaken Tinubu’s camp. Nigerians long suffering, but now hopeful, are thrilled by this unexpected but strategic move. And for that, we commend the coalition for outmaneuvering the so-called master political strategist on his own turf.

As we look forward, we urge the coalition to remain focused. Rally behind the most acceptable and electable candidate. Refuse to be baited by the regime’s tactics of sowing division and doubt. We, the association of deep thinkers, see through their tired playbook and we are not deceived.

Come 2027, Bola Tinubu must be voted out in disgrace.

Let the coalition remain resolute. Let Nigerians stay alert. A new Nigeria is POssible, and it begins with collective, strategic action.
